I’m not even gonna say anything on Ms Keys and her “As I Am”album. I think y’all know by know what my opinion is. You HAVE to go out and cop this record if it’s the only one you’ll buy this year (yes I said BUY!!!…..don’t go and d/l it). You gotta support the people that are out there making music you can stay rockin for the next 10 years….
Music at its best! If there has ever been an album I’ve anticipated it’s gotta be “As I Am”. This is such a truthful song. Seemingly simple this record does exactly what a song needs to do, tell a story. This song contains no frills where they need not be. I love musician made music, and no people tapping the MPC are not considered musicians. Musicians seem to know that the music is in the silence between the notes and a simple but thruthful story. This isn’t turning out to be a especially coherent post, but then again neither am I.
Obviously I have been on hiatus as of recent. I also quit making the monthly mixtapes and I quess it has to do with the quality of music coming out. I did a bunch of posts on music I wasn’t really feeling. I was posting for the sake of posting and keeping readers fed….. This is not why I started this blog. If you want to be flooded with music there are enough other music blogs/p2p/record pools out there…. From now on I pledge to only post about tracks that I truly belief have artistic value……so if you want chicken soup type of foolishness check those previous stated repositories. That doesn’t mean I’ll only post about tracks that carry some huge message…it just means I won’t dedicate my attention to grade school songs with a casio honky tonk beat…..
This blog has gone too far off topic. I will be cutting down on the options and addons. I’m looking into changing the theme. If anybody knows a nice simple widget ready wordpress theme please do let me know.
On a positive note though, Damnhotmess.com has survived for a year this October!!! whoopty whoo huh? I guess thats longer than the average blog, but we have got long ways to go…
I might have a nice surprise for y’all though….you are going to have to wait and see though…
